Visitors to Peru can fly now on Air Canada’s new Boeing 767-300ER, which features new and comfortable seats on its executive and economy classes as well as many hours of music and movies for your entertaining on board, from Toronto in a direct fly to Lima.
The Boeing 767 family of airplanes produces less pollutant emissions per pound of fuel than any comparably sized jetliner. They are also lighter and more efficient than competing jetliners, the 767s burn less fuel for better environmental performance and improved operating economics. These airplanes are quiet and the newest family members such as the 767-400ER are the quietest of all.

National Museum of Chavin
Visitors to the massive temple of Chavin de Huantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Trust Site, are now able to admire the archaeological objects found in its underground tunnels and galleries at the new National Museum of Chavin, including the Tello Obelisk that was taken to Lima 90 years ago as well as other impressive carved stone monoliths. Eventually, a research and conservation center will be built near the museum.
On its opening day, reminiscences of the glorious past of the Chavin Culture were given by the sound of the “pututos”, trumpets made from sea conch, the way it is thought their rites were announced 3,000 years before Christ.
The museum has 14 exhibition rooms and is located about 4 hours east of Huaraz, in the region of Ancash. It has been built near the famous archaeological site and it is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 5pm. including holidays.

New lodges will be built for Andean mountaineers in Ancash
Authorities in Huaraz, in the Ancash region, are planning to build new lodges for mountaineers that come from all over the world to climb the snow peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, the highest tropical mountain range on Earth. The lodges will be built at the bottom of the mountains offering the climbers a better access to their peaks.

Choquequirao will soon be more accessible
The Choquequirao archaeological site will soon be included in the tourist routes of Cusco-Machu Picchu; eventually, it will receive more than 9,000 visitors every year. The Inca road to Choquequirao will be repaired and maintained in order to ease the hike for travelers.
The National Geographic and the World Bank will sponsor a master plan for Choquequirao and a tourist management plan that will balance the protection of the area and the tourist flow.

More discoveries in Lambayeque
A religious temple was recently discovered in the region of Lambayeque, it may have belonged to the formative period of the Cupisnique culture (1200-200 B.C.). A modeled image of a spider on a wall was found inside the structure, which may have been one of the first deities this people worshiped. The archaeological sites found in the area have major monumental architecture; they were built with mud, stone, and clay among other materials and decorated with designs representing humans, animals and mystical creatures.
Museum at Huaca Rajada-Sipan will open soon
Construction of the museum at the archaeological site of Huaca Rajada-Sipan in the region of Lambayeque has finished. The museum has been equipped with the latest technology in security and conservation to keep safe the treasures found at the tomb 14. The building was designed in a way that it does not affect the look of the archaeological site. And the locals have been trained to make Mochica-style handicrafts that visitors will be able to take home as souvenirs, which will benefit their community.
The next Mommy movie may be shot in Peru
Producers at Universal Studios are considering the location for the next Mommy movie somewhere in Latin America, in a place with millenary traditions. Recently, director Rob Cohen talked about the importance of Peru’s cultural legacy, mentioning the Incas and the pre-Incas cultures that flourished in this part of the continent, which have produced many mommies. He said that they are studying the possibility of producing the fourth movie in Cusco.
