Getting ready for the APEC 2008

Councils at the Barranco city hall are working on “The Cultural and Tourist Route,” which will be offered to visitors that will participate in the coming world summits. The route will start at the Plaza de Armas, and then it will take guests to Puente de los Suspiros, El Mirador, La Ermita, and to El Funicular with its panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. Seventy percent of homes and public buildings in the district of Barranco are well-conserved colonial properties; some were built in the early 1800s. It is another jewel of Lima, the capital of Peru, once called “The City of Kings” by the Europeans.
