The Choquequirao archaeological site will soon be included in the tourist routes of Cusco-Machu Picchu; eventually, it will receive more than 9,000 visitors every year. The Inca road to Choquequirao will be repaired and maintained in order to ease the hike for travelers.
The National Geographic and the World Bank will sponsor a master plan for Choquequirao and a tourist management plan that will balance the protection of the area and the tourist flow.
