Pomac Forest is growing again

The Pomac Forest Historical Sanctuary that was disappearing under illegal clear-cuts in the last decades is finally growing back with the help of the authorities and the work of volunteers.

Among the natural and historical wonders that can be seen in the dry woodland of Pomac are 6 thousand hectares of algarrobo—carob tree—among other plants; birds and mammals; a museum showing native art; and archaeological sites such as the 20 pyramids that were built by ancient cultures that flourished in this part of Peru: Lambayeque and Moche.
