A tramway will add a panoramic view to Lima’s attractions

Lima’s City Hall will grant this year a private concession for the construction of a tramway on the San Cristobal Hill. The tramway will offer a panoramic view of Lima’s Historic Center and the Plaza de Acho--the oldest bullring in South America (1766).

The “Teleferico de Lima” will have 13 cars that fit 8 persons each; it will run at 18Km per hour from the Parque la Muralla to the top of the San Cristobal Hill on a 1.4 kilometers trip.

At the top of the hill, the site museum will be renovated. And new facilities will be built for visitors to enjoy the panoramic view of the colonial city, such as a view point and a restaurant.
